Well,
Its a bit unfortunate that I have only manage to post once since the last project update but I plan to change that for next month.
I’m very nearly done with Chapter 2 of Hartshorne, but I will have to eventually go back and fill in some of the proofs which were confusing me, which should be done in any spare time I get in the next few weeks.
The plan is that on Tuesday I start reading Chapter 3 of Hartshorne, work on it for whole of the next month and have it finished by October 4th, so that I can start working on the computational ideas of my project.
I’m also trying to prepare a post on Hilbert Schemes(with the help of these notes), which are discussed by Mike Stillman in his talks and I don’t quite know what they are yet.
Also there are a few things which are too small to deserve their own post and/or didn’t fit anywhere else:
- Firstly, Ravi Vakil started to post his Algebraic Geometry Notes for this 2010/11 Math216 course on this blog. The course blog address is math216.wordpress.com, and he has being posting the notes here.
- I also found this interesting thing Latex2WP , which allows you to convert a .Tex file into a format which you can put in wordpress. Full explanation and download can be found here.
- The Stalks Project is an open source textbook and reference work on algebraic stacks and the algebraic geometry needed to define them. Their full book can found here. Great for the Commutative Algebra background.
Well I think this is it.
I heard about Latex2WP too. It made me regret that I’m using blogspot (I did give posterous a whirl, but I’ve already gotten used to blogspot so wasn’t convinced to change.) I’ve been trying to type my work up in pure latex, so I can easily move it over to the written piece we have to turn in.
what actually *is* the computational idea of your project?
